Mothers' Union
The Mothers’ Union is an organisation within the Anglican Church, which is concerned for the wellbeing of families world-wide. It was started in 1876 by Mary Sumner, an Anglican clergyman’s wife. The Mothers’ Union is the largest Christian women’s organisation in the world (and men are now very welcome to join). We are active in 77 countries with over 3.5 million members.
Our branch at St. Andrew’s will be 90 years old in 2009.
Membership of the Mothers’ Union is open to anyone (male or female) who has been baptised and who supports our Aim and Objectives.
We meet on the fourth Friday of each month at 1.30pm (except August) in St. Andrew’s Church hall. All welcome – give us a try! We also join other branches in the Deanery when invited to their meetings or celebrations.
