Safari - Summer Holiday Club 2010
What is SAFARI?
A holiday club run for children aged 3 1/2 - 15 years old. We have a week of fun and games, learning about the theme for the week, which this year is 'Station Safari'. The week involves exploring the Bible, craft activities, story telling, singing, all-age worship on the Queen’s Theatre Green. On the Wednesday there is an activity day at Robert Beard Centre, Hornchurch (for the younger ones) and a trip to Stubber's Outdoor pursuits centre for those in school year 5 and above.

© Have you stopped helping with Safari now your children are past ‘Safari age’?
© Did you help with Safari last year and have a form sitting under a pile of papers at home?

we need you to take action
NOW!
There are lots of young people in Hornchurch who would love to take part in a week of fun and Christian fellowship IF ONLY we had enough leaders to help. We do not want to turn the children away, so PLEASE help – even if you cannot volunteer for the full week.
We desperately need leaders; including the young and ‘more mature’ to allow us to take children on Safari. The commitment is only for the mornings 9am-1pm and if you have children yourself, they can come too. If you do not have children, or if they have grown up, we really need your experience to help maintain the adult to child ratio that is legally required for a venture of this kind. You could even volunteer part time, but for a minimum of 2 days per week please.
You would work with at least one other person with a small group of children in an age-group of your choice. You would look after the children and help them with the crafts and worksheets, all to a programme which will be prepared for you in advance.
Do you want your child to take part in Safari this year?
If you would like your child/children to join in the fun, then come along to the church on Saturday 15th May 10am - 11am to register them. Please note places are on a strictly first come basis as places are limited.
Safari runs this year from Monday 26th July – Friday 30th July inclusive.
Safari does cost to run and in order to keep costs down for parents we have some fundraising days. Please feel free to come and support Safari at any of these events even if you cannot bring your children to Safari. The fund raising dates are:
Saturday 22nd May Quiz Night at our North Street Hall (for further details see the weekly Notices and News)
Sunday 28th June after 10.30am service at St Andrew's Church - cake stall in the adjoining hall
