Weddings
Can I get married here?
To marry in a Parish Church there are two qualifications, either:
- Must have family links with the Parish
or
- Must have habitually worshipped in the Parish for 6 months
How to book the church
Bookings for weddings are made on the first Tuesday of the month between 6:30pm and 7:30pm, or on the third Saturday of the month between 9:30am and 10:30am. On arrival the couple will be asked to complete a form and following this will be interviewed by a member of the Clergy. Bookings are secured with £100.00 booking fee.
Photo identification and proof of residence is required for both parties.
Preparing yourselves
Couples will be invited to a 'Marriage Preparation' Course held on a Saturday.
Final details
About 3 months before the wedding, the couple will receive a letter inviting them to attend a meeting to discuss the reading of the Banns (Notice of Marriage) and requirements for the wedding. Banns are read for three consecutive Sundays at the 10.30am service in St Andrew's Church.
