It is with sadness that we report the death of Brian Allen a member of our daughter church St George’s. A current member related that he was with them for about 15 years. Brian used to be a Captain in the Boys Brigade and when he was Confirmed at St Andrew’s another member of the Brigade came to support him, both were dressed in their uniforms.

Brian fitted in well with life at St Georges and loved to help with everything. At the annual bazaar he would run a section of the jewellery stall which he thoroughly enjoyed. He always stayed behind after services to clear up and make sure all was clean and tidy. He took on the role of bringing the Sunday collection to the Parish Office on a Monday morning (pre Covid) and always had a cheery smile and a quick chat with the staff and volunteers.

At social events Brian would make his famous Bread Pudding which was so popular he was told to make double what he thought was needed and it always went first. Brian will be missed by many.

Brian’s funeral will be held on Tuesday 23rd April at 1 pm in St Andrew’s Church, which is St Georges Day.
